How to connect your Zoom account to Front
Edited

Overview

Zoom's seamless video conferencing platform makes it the perfect tool to connect to Front Calendar. Once you connect a Zoom account, you'll be able to schedule Zoom meetings from Front Calendar, and automatically generate Zoom meetings with scheduling links.

Instructions

Admin steps

A company admin will need to first enable the Zoom integration for the entire company.

Step 1

Click the gear icon on the top right of Front, and into the Company settings tab, and choose App store under the Company section. Search for Zoom and click See details.

Step 2

Click the Enable app button on the top right.

End-user steps

Step 1

Open Front Calendar by selecting the calendar icon from the plugin sidebar. If you haven't already, sign into your calendar with your Google or Office 365 account.

Step 2

Create a new event. From the conference field, select Zoom Conference from the dropdown menu. You should be prompted to log in with your Zoom credentials.

Step 3

Follow the prompts in Zoom to connect your desired Zoom account to Front.

Step 4

Refresh Front. You should now be able to create Zoom meetings.

Change or disconnect your Zoom account

Step 1

If you need to change or disconnect your Zoom account, log in to the Zoom App Marketplace and go to Added Apps to view the apps you've authorized for Zoom. Locate or search for Front on the list.

Step 2

Next to Front, click Remove.

Step 3

In the popup, select your remove reason, then click Remove.

If you have an old and new Zoom account, you should make sure to remove Front for both the old and new Zoom accounts.

Step 4

Follow the Instructions section above to reconnect Zoom.

Passcodes

If your team uses Zoom's passcode for team meetings, we suggest that the Zoom admin enables and locks the account-level setting to "require a password when scheduling new meetings". This can help make sure that the passcode is applied for the linking.

Uninstall Zoom

Log in to the Zoom App Marketplace to view the apps you've authorized for Zoom, locate or search for Front on the list, and click Remove next to Front.

FAQ

Why isn't my Zoom working in scheduling links?

Chances are that you haven't authenticated Zoom in Front Calendar yet. You will first need to complete the End-user steps above before Zoom will be useable in your scheduling links. You will not be able to authenticate your Zoom account directly from the scheduling links screen.

What permissions does this integration require?

We leverage an OAuth connection to each user's Zoom profile. The scope of the permissions Front utilizes is limited to "view and manage current user's meetings" and "view current user's information". For more details on the OAuth scopes we leverage in Zoom head to their help page here.

Does each user need to grant permission to Zoom?

Yes. Once the integration is enabled by a company admin each user will need to follow the end-user steps above.
