How to enable and use the Guru integration

Overview

Like other integrations, you need to be an admin in order to enable the Guru integration.

The Guru integration gives you complete access to view and edit cards in your Guru knowledge base, right from Front. With Guru enabled in Front, your team can quickly look up or update answers to customer questions, training resources, product messaging, and more without needing to leave their inbox.

You will need to have a Guru account and a Front account with API access.


Instructions

Step 1

Go into your Settings and select Integrations. Click on Guru.

Step 2

Click on Enable Integration, turn the toggle on, and click Save.

Step 3

You can access your Guru knowledge base directly in Front. Open the right pane by clicking on the arrow located on the top right corner of your Front inbox, and choose the Guru plugin from the dropdown menu.

Step 4

Log in using your Guru account credentials to connect Front with Guru.

If you use Google Auth to sign in to Guru, you will need to use Front's web app rather than the desktop app.

Step 5

You will have the same Guru permissions when you log into the Guru web app that you have in the Front plugin. If you have "Author" permissions, you can create and edit Guru cards right from Front. Otherwise, use the search bar and navigation menu to find the card you're looking for.

If you open a card and would like to navigate back to your list of search results, click the X in the upper right corner of the card to close it.
