Adding a generic inbox (via email forwarding): activation guide

Overview

For any email providers other than Gmail and Office365, you will use this method to set up your email channels in Front. This is the forwarding (SMTP) method. 


Part 1: Steps in Front

Step 1

Go to Settings.

Step 2

Click My Inbox (individual inbox) or Inbox (shared inbox).

Step 3

Input your inbox address.

Step 4

Copy the Front forwarding address.

Part 2: Steps in your email provider

Step 5

Log into your email provider and find where to set up email forwarding. Make sure you're setting up a redirection and not setting up a rule to forward a new copy of the email to Front.

Step 6

Paste Front’s forwarding address when prompted.

Part 3: Steps in Front

Step 7

Go to Settings.

Step 8

Find the account you created under either My Inbox or Inbox.

Step 9

Scroll down and Validate your channel.

Step 10

In 10 seconds, you will see a pop-up alert letting you know the account’s been validated.


Add custom SMTP (optional)

If you need to add a custom SMTP, follow these additional steps:

Step 1

Scroll down until you see the Custom SMTP field.

Step 2

Enable custom SMTP and input your credentials.

Step 3

Test connection to make sure everything works properly.

Step 4

Click Save.
