Create and manage analytics views

Overview

Front analytics gives admins, team managers, department heads, and other company leaders insight into your team's performance and company impact with Front. Within Analytics, you’ll find 5 built-in dashboards that you can customize through views and filters to measure what you care about most. In this article, you will learn how to create new report views with and without saving them, as well as manage existing views.

Instructions

Create new view

Step 1

Access Analytics by clicking on the Analytics button on the bottom left corner of Front, the round icon of a graph.

Step 2

On the left navigation panel, use the Team selection dropdown menu to choose whether you want to create an individual report or a team report.

Step 3

Choose the report type from the list on the left navigation panel. The report will load the All data tab, or it will load the pinned view that you were previously clicked on.

Step 4

Click the Add view button next to the tabs. A new tab named New view (1) will appear.

Step 5

Adjust the inboxes and teammates filters, which are automatically added for you, or you can delete them by clicking the X. Click the + sign to add additional filters. As you change filters, the report will refresh with the data matching the filters.

If you only need to view the data one time and do not need to save the view, then you are finished! If you do want to save the view, continue to Step 6.

Step 6

After editing the filters, click the Save View button, then on Save as new. You will see a popup window to enter the view name, choose the team access, pin the view, and make it your default view. Once a view is created, the view and its filters will be available for all report types when you click into other reports.

Edit and create from existing view

Step 1

Access Analytics by clicking on the Analytics button on the bottom left corner of Front, the round icon of a graph.

Step 2

On the left navigation panel, use the Team selection dropdown menu to choose which Team the report lives in.

Step 3

Choose the report type from the list on the left navigation panel. The report will load the All data tab, or it will load the pinned view that you were previously clicked on.

Step 4

Find the view you want to edit. If it was already pinned, you will find it across the top as one of the tabs. If it was not pinned, click on the All views dropdown menu on the right to pin it for editing.

Step 5

After clicking the view and letting it fully load, you can now adjust the filters for it. Edit the existing filters already added, or add a new filter by clicking the + sign to see more filter options. As you change filters, the report will refresh with new data matching the filters.

If you only need to view the data one time and do not need to save edits to the view, then you are finished! If you do want to save the view, continue to Step 6.

Step 6

After editing the filters, click the Save View button to choose from two options: 1) Save will save over the existing view, and 2) Save as new will create a brand new view.

Step 2

You will see a new tab created with the same name and the word (Copy) at the end. Edit the existing filters already added, or add a new filter by clicking the + sign to see more filter options. As you change filters, the report will refresh with new data matching the filters. Step 2

A pop-up window will appear to confirm whether you want to delete this view. If so, then click the Delete button. Once deleted, a view cannot be recovered.

Include an individual inbox

By default, the analytics of an individual inbox is not included in Analytics reports, but can be enabled. Making an individual inbox visible in analytics will allow admins to track the performance of teammates who primarily work and communicate out of their own inboxes, rather than a shared team inbox. To make its data visible, the owner of the inbox or an admin can follow these steps.

Step 1

Click into the inbox settings. The owner will access it in their Personal Settings, and an admin can access it using these steps.

Step 2

Click on the individual inbox and into the Settings section.

Step 3

Toggle on the Make inbox visible in the analytics feature, and Save changes.

Step 4

Now you can add this inbox to your report views.
